About PhotoVoice's Organisation

PhotoVoice is a UK based non-profit organisation that promotes the use of ethical photography and community engagement for social change.

PhotoVoice was first established in 1999, and registered as a business in 2000. It was then registered as a charity in 2003, and converted into a Community Interest Company in 2022, PhotoVoice has delivered projects, training, exhibitions and consultancy worldwide.

We are based in London, and deliver in-person projects across the world.

In 2020, as a response to the pandemic, we developed a bespoke community engagement platform called PhotoVoice Connect, which enables us to deliver projects, training and activities using a variety of online tools, expanding the reach of our work.

Our operational activities are delivered by PhotoVoice CIC, while PhotoVoice Charity exists to protect and safeguard the legacy of our work. You can find more information about PhotoVoice Charity *here*.

PhotoVoice is registered as a Community Interest Company in England and Wales, under registration number 14574182.

Community Interest Statement

As a Community Interest Company, our activities are governed by a Community Interest Statement, which sets out how we work, and the communities we support. You can read this statement in full here.

PhotoVoice's Ethical Approach

PhotoVoice prides itself on its ethical approach, which runs throughout its operations.

Our Statement of Ethical Practice is available for all, and we encourage people to use it as a starting point for their own participatory engagement programmes.
