02/02/2018 We want to help spread the love this Valentine’s Day, which is why we are delighted to announce that a new photography competition ‘Love in London’, launches today to support PhotoVoice.
For many, 2017 was a difficult year, with tragic events, political upheaval, and scandals shaking institutions worldwide. London saw its fair share of dramatic events including terrorist attacks and the horrific Grenfell Tower disaster.
However, in the wake of these awful events, London unified and showed that the only way to combat hate is through love. Members of the Muslim community handed out 3,000 roses at London Bridge, volunteers poured into west London to support those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire, and thousands joined the Women’s March.
So, to celebrate London’s diversity, solidarity and positivity, Clikd, an award-winning dating app aimed at the creative community, has launched a new photography competition inviting people to submit photographs which showcase what Love means to them in the capital.
The winning photographs will be shared on digital screens across London to create a wave of positivity throughout the capital. Prizes also include everything from camera equipment to gallery space, from renowned merchants and organisations including acclaimed photographic printer Metro.
Entry is free, but a £2 donation per image entered is strongly encouraged to support PhotoVoice’s projects worldwide. All donations will be given directly to PhotoVoice.
Opening date: 14/02/2018
Closing date: 07/03/2018
