PhotoVoice Training in New Orleans – September 2019

PhotoVoice is delighted to be offering its acclaimed 3-day training course in a US setting for the first time. Drawing upon PhotoVoice’s award winning expertise and the extensive learning gained from running participatory photography projects with excluded communities around the world, experienced trainers deliver fast paced, participatory workshops that create a forum for questions and discussions within the field.  Ideal for practitioners and professionals who want to set up a participatory project, or those wanting an in-depth overview of participatory photography.

The 3-day course provides a comprehensive introduction to understanding, designing, managing and facilitating a participatory photography project.  The course covers key aspects of participatory photography including practicalities, methodologies, ethics, participatory tools, facilitation and participatory frameworks.

The course is suitable for a wide range of participants interested in social change and photography or digital media including: photographers, visual practitioners, voluntary sector and NGO staff, campaigners, statutory sector workers, and academics.

The three day course costs £630 (approximately $800).

I really loved it all… the activities that we did sparked interesting discussion and are excellent examples of what I can do in my own projects.  The training inspired me to better lead projects that are meaningful and will achieve the goals we have set forth.  I am really thankful that I took this training and appreciate that you are interested in learning about our projects and are willing to answer questions as we encounter them.

The course takes place from September 12th – 14th, at the New Orleans Propeller. To book a place on the course, please visit here.
