Following the release of our new strategy and efforts to promote the use of ethical photography we are hoping to launch, ‘Is That Image Ethical?’ a campaign to rebuke exploitative NGO and charity imagery.
But we need your help!
This #GivingTuesday (November 28th) PhotoVoice will join the Big Give Christmas Challenge, the largest match funding campaign in the UK. If successful in reaching our fundraising target of £2,000 it will be matched, leaving us with £4,000 to fund our campaign. Please add your details here to be kept up to date regarding the Christmas Challenge.
We want underrepresented communities to share their own perspectives and feed into the discussions that are often about them. Donations will aid us in running more projects like Having Our Say, which supports young people affected by or at risk of sexual exploitation. It will help further our work to challenge NGO’s and charities on manipulative fundraising material.
By donating to the ‘Is That Image Ethical?’ campaign you are ensuring that there is a rebuttal to the stereotypical, harmful ‘flies-in-the-eyes’ imagery that fills our media pages. With your help, we will change and shape the way that charities represent their beneficiaries. Please, donate as much or as little as you can. Remember your donation will be matched, so what you donate will be doubled!
We will be releasing the link to our Big Give Christmas Challenge on November 28th and you will have until December 05th to have your donation matched!
