If you or your organisation are thinking of running your own participatory training course, but would like some support or insight into developing it, PhotoVoice is able to provide a bespoke training course and additional consultancy support.

This is available as either a 1-day or 4-day course, which is based on PhotoVoice’s acclaimed training course, with key aspects of the curriculum tailored to the specific of your project.

Two bespoke curricula are available:
1-day training

The course covers:

  • Photography as a participatory medium
  • Introducing Visual Literacy
  • Photo dialogues
  • Using the cameras
  • Working with text
  • Risk, copyright, and informed consent
4-day training

The course covers:

  • What is participatory photography?
  • Photography as a participatory medium
  • Visual literacy
  • Workshop and project design practicalities
  • Facilitation skills
  • Ethics, informed consent and copyright
  • Understanding and working with risk
  • Creating a safe space
  • Working with text
  • Participatory editing

Both the 1-day and 4-day courses will involve some engagement with key individuals within the commissioning organisation to ensure that the training meets the requirements of the organisation. They can be delivered anywhere in the world.

Additional consultancy days can be agreed following the training. These can be used to provide reactive support during your project delivery.

Prices:
1-day training

PhotoVoice Organisational Supporter: £1750 + VAT

Standard rate: £2250 + VAT

Please note that all travel and subsistence rates will be in addition to the training fee above.

4-day training

PhotoVoice Organisational Supporter: £5500 + VAT

Standard rate: £6500 + VAT
